The day we've all been waiting for is finally here & I don't know about you, but I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! Tomorrow begins the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at undeniably the most picturesque courses on tour (and one of the most difficult in the opinion of many tour players).
The Plantation Course at Kapalua boasts Maui's most beautiful coastal scenery, 7,400 challenging yards as well as the only par 73 on the PGA. The best part of Kapalua is, in my opinion, the 521 yard par 5 ninth. Players face strong, in your face winds & a massive valley which must be carried on your second shot or you're facing a blind approach to the plateaued green.
Big news out today, defending champ Oglviy withdrew from the tournament due to a finger injury he suffered on the beach earlier this week. Also breaking news, Mehleck didn't take him out of his line up - dummy!
Love it.
ReplyDeleteOne in the books and no commentary? What can look for this week? I certainly hope you have not been distracted by some idiot with low self esteem. Please give us more. We are waiting with baited breath.
